Yogi, a five-time MP, is contesting the assembly elections for the first time from the city seat in Gorakhpur. BJP has occupied this seat for 33 years. Home Minister Amit Shah himself and UP election in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan were present in Yogi's nomination. This is the first time Shah has appeared in someone's nomination. After the nomination, Amit Shah reached the Gorakshanath Math and offered prayers.

Through this mega show, BJP has tried to give a big message in Purvanchal. The Home Minister said, 'The people of UP are with the BJP. Will win 300 seats again this time. The opposition has no issue.
